Bassline Battle (FReeZA Push Start Series 2018)

Bassline-Battle-Header.jpg

The FReeZA Push Start series showcases young musicians from around Victoria, giving them a platform to perform their music live, share their stories and gain local exposure.

Local heats are hosted by FReeZA committees each year from March to August, with the winners going on to compete in regional finals from September to December. Winners from the nine regional finals then go onto compete in the grand final held as part of the annual St Kilda Festival in February.

This year Maroondah City Council Youth Services and Bassline Productions will be hosting the Maroondah heat (Bassline Battle) on Friday the 3rd of August at EV’s Youth Centre.

Bassline Battle is open to applicants of all music styles (electronic, hip-hop, soul, folk, pop, punk, ambient, noise-squelch etc.) and all line-ups including bands, duos, solo artists, and DJs. We are inclusive of all gender identities, sexualities, and cultural backgrounds.

Applicants can not have placed first in a past FReeZA Push Start heat or be competing currently.

It is of most benefit to artists performing original material and we strongly encourage musicians/bands who live, work or play in the Maroondah area. If you’re a musician/band between the ages of 12-25 and are interested in entering, fill out the below application form and email to Marcus.kelly@maroondah.vic.gov.au.

Applications close Friday the 29th of June.
