School Focused Youth Service
Through School Focused Youth Service (SFYS), we work with schools and community organisations to support young people aged 10-18 years who are attending school, but are vulnerable to or showing signs of disengagement from school, to remain connected to education.
Through this service we can work with schools to design support that works for them.
This could include;
- Direct support for young people,
- Capacity building for school staff and partners,
- Local planning to identify and address disengagement.
Maroondah Positive Education Network
The Maroondah Positive Education Network (MPEN) aims to use positive education to raise the wellbeing and lift the educational outcomes of students in Maroondah.
As part of the MPEN, Council has implemented three rounds of the University of Melbourne’s Wellbeing Profiler, which measures the wellbeing of young people across a number of domains.
MPEN partners are committed to using this data to build on the strengths of young people in Maroondah, and provide wellbeing support where necessary.
Programs in Schools
Our trained Youth Workers can support students in Maroondah schools by delivering small group sessions or workshops on-site, on a range of topics regarding wellbeing.
